ESG Data: Between regulatory streamlining and performance requirements. Interview with Petra Besson-Fencikova

Sustainable finance is facing a dual dynamic: between growing skepticism, questioning the added value of ESG; and, the “Omnibus” proposal, which significantly reduces the scope of the CSRD and could deprive the market of part of the extra-financial data previously available. For investors and asset managers, however, data remains key: it feeds SFDR and MiFID compliance, enables risk management, and ultimately allows demonstrating ESG’s contribution to performance. In this context, the perspective of a committed asset manager like Petra Besson-Fencikova is valuable: she embodies the transition from standards to concrete investment decisions.
