Regulatory update on SFDR 2.0 – Where do we stand?
On 20 November 2025, the European Commission published its legislative proposal to reform the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, marking a significant turning point in the EU’s sustainable finance regulatory framework. This session offers a structured overview of a reform that fundamentally reorients the existing regime, transitioning from a disclosure-based framework towards a product categorisation system underpinned by defined investment thresholds, mandatory exclusions, and targeted disclosure requirements. The presentation will examine the key changes introduced by the proposal, including the removal of some of the existing obligations, the architecture of the three new product categories, and the implications for both categorised and non-categorised products, before setting out where the legislative process currently stands.
