Trust is fundamental to sustainable finance, yet the information behind investment decisions is often incomplete, difficult to compare or disconnected from real-world outcomes. Artificial intelligence, satellite imagery and spatial data offer new ways to assess risk, test sustainability claims and monitor environmental and social change at asset and location level.
This panel will look beyond the promise of technology to examine its practical value and limitations. Panelists will discuss how these tools are being applied, what reliable evidence looks like and why data quality, transparency, explainability and human oversight remain essential. Can technology close the trust gap, or could greater precision simply create stronger confidence in the time of sustainable finance regulatory simplifications?
